Poppin' Popcorn

On Monday we made popcorn using a popcorn maker.
Even though lots of us have popcorn makers at home, it's still really exciting to make it at school!!
While we made the popcorn we brainstormed some describing words using the 5 senses. We talked about what it sounded like, looked like, smelt like, felt like and the most important one was what it tasted like!!
Then we wrote some fabulous popcorn poems using some of these describing words.
Here are some of our popcorn poems.

Popcorn! Popcorn!
It sounds like pop! pop!
It looks like clouds
It smells like butter corn
It feels spongy
And it tastes like candy
Popcorn! Popcorn!

Popcorn! Popcorn!
It sounds like pop! pop!
It looks white as snow
It smells sour
It feels spongy
And it tastes buttery
Popcorn! Popcorn!

Popcorn! Popcorn!
It sounds like banging
It looks like clouds
It smells salty
It feels like the sun when it's hot
And it tastes like rice
Popcorn! Popcorn!

Popcorn! Popcorn!
It sounds like pppp
It looks like puffy clouds
It smells delicious
It feels like soft hands
And it tastes salty
Popcorn! Popcorn!

Popcorn! Popcorn!
It sounds like crackle pop
It looks like a cloud
It smells buttery
It feels squishy
And it tastes delicious
Popcorn! Popcorn!
